Our belief is that we are all born with musicality in us and it is how this musicality is nurtured and developed from an early age that makes us all potential musicians. We believe that music also forms a great foundation for learning, with proven links to helping mathematical, language, social and communication skills. Music is a universal language of expression, an outlet for emotions, ideas and creativity. It can bring people together, help build confidence and can be created any time, anywhere!
Rainbow Rhyme offer a musical experience to children from birth to 5 years of age and their parents/guardians. Sessions involve singing along with a mixture of real instruments and recorded music, using actions, movement and visual props to enhance the learning experience. For older children we introduce fun, musical games to help develop knowledge in basic music theory.
We believe that children learn a lot through exploration and play so during our sessions we include time for child-led free play with a variety of colourful and unusual instruments from all around the world. During this time we interact with the children mimicking, encouraging and developing their musical ideas.
The sessions have been developed by myself, Sarah Masters and my colleague, Emma Jones. We are both educated to degree level in music/music technology and between the two of us have a vast experience of performing, instrumental teaching and music in early years music education. Most importantly we are both mommies with Emma having a 10 year old son and a 5 year old daughter and I, Sarah having a 9 year old son and a 5 year old daughter.
